Lottery Rules

“Greenwich & Bexley Community Hospice Lottery Limited”, “we”, “us” and “our” shall be a reference to Community Hospice Lottery, registered charity number 1017406 (England and Wales); “entrants” “you” and “your” means a person entering into the Community Hospice Weekly Lottery.

  1. The cost of each entry is £1. Players may purchase more than one entry, and payment must be in advance. The maximum number of entries for an individual in each weekly draw is twenty.
  2. Entry is open to all UK residents excluding the Channel Islands & Isle of Man. Entry also excludes Greenwich & Bexley Community Hospice Lottery Limited (Community Hospice Lottery) directors and third parties directly involved in the administration or management of the Weekly Lottery.
  3. The Lottery is not to be sold by or to anyone under 18 years of age. Any person found to be under 18 years of age automatically forfeits the right to any prize.
  4. Your unique lottery number(s) will be generated and confirmed by post within 21 days. Your number(s) will remain the same each week. No ticket will be supplied.
  5. The weekly draw will be conducted every Friday. The draw will be conducted by a random number generator which will select twenty-two numbers (the Winning Numbers). If the draw falls on a bank holiday, it will be carried out the following working day. Only Lottery numbers for players with sufficient credit at the time of the draw will be eligible for prizes. Late or missed payments may result in player’s lottery numbers not being eligible for every draw.
  6. The Winning Number will be published on the Community Hospice Lottery website (lottery.communityhospice.org.uk/winners) and will be available from the Weekly Lottery Helpline on 020 8320 5786. Results will be available from the Monday following the draw.
  7. There are no alternatives to any prize and no interest will be payable. If you pay by Direct Debit, prizes will be paid directly into your bank account.
  8. Prizes are as follows: First prize of £1,000. Second prize £200, this is the rollover prize and may not be won each week and can reach a maximum of £10,000, when it would be won. Runner up prizes of £10.
  9. All profits from Community Hospice Lottery are passed to Community Hospice to continue funding the charity’s work.
  10. Community Hospice Lottery is not responsible for any delays in bank payments.
  11. No liability is accepted for loss, theft or delayed receipt of any communication sent by post.
  12. Community Hospice Lottery or its External Lottery Manager may (without giving any reason or notice) decline to accept an application, cancel an existing subscription or terminate or suspend the lottery scheme. Community Hospice Lottery or its External Lottery Manager’s decisions made regarding the rules shall, once made, be final and binding.
  13. The rules are subject to change by Community Hospice Lottery or its External Lottery Manager. Copies of the latest rules will be published on lottery.communityhospice.org.uk/rules
  14. Community Hospice Lottery will collect and process participants’ personal information in order to conduct the Weekly Lottery and it will be shared with Community Hospice Lottery agents to the extent necessary for the Weekly Lottery to be administered and the prize to be delivered to the winner. Players’ names and other personal details from their entry to the Weekly Lottery will be collected and stored by Community Hospice Lottery and held in accordance with the applicable privacy policy in place from time to time (see communityhospice.org.uk/privacy-policy) Community Hospice Limited will send participants marketing materials that they have consented to receiving.
  15. Community Hospice Lottery maintains records of customer funds separately from general company / charity funds. This means that steps have been taken to separately account for customer funds from company / charity funds however those funds are not protected if Community Hospice Lottery becomes insolvent. This meets the Gambling Commission’s requirements for the segregation of customer funds at the basic level of protection.
  16. These terms and conditions are governed by English law. The courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction to hear any dispute or claim arising in association with the Weekly Lottery or these terms and conditions.
  17. All proceeds from this Lottery will be used for the charitable purposes of Community Hospice. Over 40p of every lottery £1 is spent directly on our hospice care services, the remainder goes on prize money, administration, and spreading the word about our lottery. The odds of winning a single prize are 1 in 331.

Direct Debit Guarantee

  • This Guarantee is offered by all banks and building societies that accept instructions to pay Direct Debits.
  • If there are any changes to the amount, date or frequency of your Direct Debit, Charity Payments Re GBCH Direct Debits will notify you 5 working days in advance of your account being debited or as otherwise agreed. If you request Charity Payments Re GBCH to collect a payment, confirmation of the amount and date will be given to you at the time of the request.
  • If an error is made in the payment of your Direct Debit, by Charity Payments Re GBCH or your bank or building society, you are entitled to a full and immediate refund of the amount paid from your bank or building society.
  • If you receive a refund you are not entitled to, you must pay it back when Charity Payments Re GBCH asks you to.
  • You can cancel a Direct Debit at any time by simply contacting your bank or building society. Written confirmation may be required. Please also notify us.
